TOP 5 Free And Cheap Things To Do In Brussels

So you’re going to Brussels and you want to do it on a budget. Good news: there are some interesting things you can do for FREE. And if you know where to look you can find really good discounts. The TOP 5 I mention here is fully based on my own experience. Let’s start:

1. FREE Tours

It works like this, – you come to the meeting point at certain time (sometimes you should previously register), you walk around Brussels with a local guide that gives you nice excursion about Brussels and in the end you can (“can” is relative, you know) pay what you think the tour was worth.

2. FREE or very cheap Museums

Also if you’re -26 years old you have great discount at Royal Museums of Fine Arts (one of the most prominent museums in Belgium which gathers Old Masters, Fin-de-Siecle, Magritt and Modern museums) at the price of 2 EUR per one museum and 3 EUR for all. Nice!

3. FREE Art Nouveau Walk

Brussels is one of the world’s centers for Art Nouveau architecture. You have 2 FREE ways to admire it:

4. -50% Discounted Tickets for Cinema, Theatre, Concerts and Events

There is a great site http://www.arsene50.be/fr which is the project of Brussels Tourist Board and it is a discount system which works like this: every day they publish the offers of -50%, -30% (and so on) tickets for the same day that you can buy online (usually from 14:00).

It works as “first come – first served” and it is a great way to save money in Brussels.

5. Visiting European Institutions

If you’re interested in EU and keen on seeing the institutions from the inside here are two possibilities:

– European Parliament has FREE Parlamentarium visitor’s center which is basically a big interactive info point

Also EU Parliament organizes Chamber tours for individuals
